Jared was in the library. He was getting older, and he knew it was time to start working. All his life, Jared wanted to be a blacksmith like his father, who had made his sword and most Maraulian household items. He ran his finger down the shelves, muttering to himself as he went.
"Smithing...Blacksmith....aren't there any here?"

OOC: Jared is about a month older than he was in "Deathblade's Revenge". He's taller, older, and a lot more friendly now.

Suddenly, Jared heard a voice, "bally good songs in here, wot wot and pip pip!" it was Hon Florion, he turned the corner and looked up from a book he had been reading and saw Jared. The Hon said, "blacksmith, hmmmm....I think some stuff over there is what your looking for!" he pointed to a shelf in the back of the library....

Jared went to where Florion pointed. There was silence for a moment, then he came out with a small book of information about smithing.
"This is just what I need. Thanks!" He sank down onto the nearest chair and began to read.

Hon Florion looked at Jared for a minute, and then asked, "who are the jolly Sandeyes?"

"I have just seen your bally old medallion and was wondering what your history was, my family was never really known to me, my father was never even seen more than once by jolly old moi!"

Jared stood up. "How did you know about my medallion? It's a family heirloom, made by the first Sandeyes. It's tradition for the father to pass it down to his eldest son. That's what happened to me: the necklace was passed down to my brother Edoran, since he was the eldest, then passed down to me after his death cause I was the next in line. Why is this so important to you?"

"Edoran Eolin Sandeye." said Jared. "Risked his life to save my sister and me. That name sound familiar?"

OOC: Eolin is a character you'll find in "Monsters' Den", but only in the third book. He is a soldier in an army.

"Eolin!" said Hon Florion, shouting Jared's brother's middle name, "I know him! I remember meeting him somewhere....

"Really?" Jared sank back into his chair and opened his book again. "Tell me. And you don't need to shout that loud, I'm right next to you."

"No, Edoran never went to Salamandastron. He was killed by rats right here in Mossflower."

"AAAA!" shouted the Hon, dropping his book of songs. Jared went stiff with fright at the sudden outburst, Hon Florion was standing still, his eyes frozen with a horrid memory, he spoke three words, "it..can't..be.."

"What do you mean 'it can't be'? Edoran never went to Salamandastron! He said he'd never been there!"
Suddenly, confusion filled him. Did Edoran ever go to Salamandastron. Was it a lie he had told Jared that he had never been there?
